Ad hoc Notes
Add free-format notes against each transaction to build up an activity log. N.B. This can also include automated messaging, e.g. from Crest, Swift or Euroclear.
The availability of this audit trail of activity provides invaluable information in assisting the settlement process for problem transactions, helping to limit risk and reduce the associated cost of trades failing. It also can provide a very clear indication of responsibility for failure enabling INTEREST CLAIMS to be made or successfully defended where appropriate.
